Franny’s Pizza Brooklyn
After going to Luigi’s it is tough to find pizza you will like. But when we went to Franny’s I tried to keep an open mind. We had nothing but time to kill as we waited for my wife to come and meet us, after spending the day in the city. Cannot believe she doesn’t find as much enjoyment doing pizza tastings with us.

Casino’s Pizza Boca Raton
While on the way to eat at Tucci’s Pizza in Boca Raton, I remembered that a new place took the spot where La Pizza used to be. The closing of La Pizza was something I wasn’t happy with, but nothing I could do. All I could hope for was that a new place that cares as much as he did would open.
Casino’s Pizza appears to be open by a family out of the New England area. That is based upon the accents of the pizza guy. Wonder when the walls here will be adorned with Patriot and Red Sox paraphernalia, like the rest of the places whose owners originate from that area. For now, they have 3 photos of Robert Deniro though.

Pizza Fiore South Beach Miami Pizza

The other day we headed down to South Beach, to show my visiting sister and her beautiful kids around Lincoln Road. We started at Alton, and walked towards Collins. Along the way, everyone started to get hungry, and like any time you have a large group, everyone wanted something different to eat.

Antonio’s Pizza-Rant Davie, Florida
One of the stops on a previous #chevypizzacrawl was at a new place we had never been to at one of our events. One of the organizers with me suggested we try Antonio’s Pizza-Rant, since she had fond memories of it from growing up. Seems like they have more then one location around the area, which is odd that I had never heard of it prior to being there. This caused me to have my pizza flags up. Usually if a place is decent, I get several emails informing me of the location, if I do not have a review already.

Pizza Guys Vallejo California
With about sixty locations covering the San Francisco Bay area and beyond, Pizza Guys seems to be the “little chain that could.”
I found them by accident tonight, punching in “pizza” on the Tom Tom, and ending up at a place around the corner from a “Pizza Guys” locale – my first stop looked far too scary, even for an adventurous soul like me, so when I spotted PG in the strip mall across the street, nestled between a nail place and a liquor store, I thought I would give it a try.

Knolla’s Pizza Wichita, KS
Here’s one of those “best places in town” as touted by local media. I guess when you live in the town that Pizza Hut started, it doesn’t take too much of an effort for people to think you have a “good” pizza.
I had been itching to get here, because I had heard about the “coney island pizza,” thinking, wow, two of my favorite things, coney island hot dogs, and pizza, combined! This will be GREAT!

Luigi’s Pizza Brooklyn New York PERFECT SLICE Best Pizza
As many of my regular readers know, it is almost impossible to wow me lately. Seems like every place is either trying to capitalize on the “coal fired” or “wood fired” craze, or trying to pretend they are “New York Style” pizza. So it has been relatively impossible to find a perfect slice of pizza so far this year. Although many places have come close, there is usually something that manages to turn me off, and change my mind. Luigi’s is not one of these places. They had a perfect slice of pizza on this night.

R&O Pizza New Orleans
Back in the day, a part of the Lake (Ponchartrain) front in New Orleans was called “Bucktown.” I’ll leave it to you to find out why. Bucktown had bars, restaurants, and businesses that catered to the fishing fleet parked on the shore. Today, Bucktown is mostly made up of the Corps of Engineers Levee (now, new and improved!), and a few restaurants have survived.

PizzaTweetup at PizzaVolante in Miami Design District
Another great #pizzatweetup took place the other night. Huge thanks to PizzaVolante, and to everyone who attended. Not only were we greeted with some extraordinary pizza, but Jonathan Eismann also gave us a HUGE antipasto salad, and some of the most delicious garlic bread I have tasted.

Motorino Pizza Williamsburg Brooklyn

Motorino Pizza is located in Greenpoint Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Not too far from Fortunato’s bakery, which we happened to go to immediately after. Greenpoint Williamsburg has been blessed with an amazing new wood fired pizza place.
This is their first place, and they recently opened a second joint on 12th street between first and second where the former Una Pizza Napoletana used to be. In a future review, you will see that they have managed to dilute themselves at this new location, as the pizza wasn’t nearly as amazing as the Greenpoint Williamsburg location.
