Mario’s Pizza – Now Bova Boca Raton – Florida Pizza Ovens
Went back to Mario’s of Boca Raton to have some Pizza again today. After hearing that Mario’s also has one of these $100,000 pizza ovens, I decided to see if I really could notice the difference. A previous post about Campagnolo in Boca Raton also made mention of their $100,000 pizza oven, which I have yet to see. Mario’s on the other hand proudly displays their oven for public viewing, almost like a trophy.

Tony’s Authentic Brooklyn Pizza – Boca Raton – Florida
After finding out that Tony was no longer at Tony’s Authentic Brooklyn Pizza in Boca Raton and that his wife Sam was running the place, I had to go back and try the pizza to see if it was still the same. Since Sam is running the place this makes her one of a handful of female owners in Palm Beach County Florida who are running their own pizza places. The only other one I actually know of is Pizza Girls in West Palm Beach. If you know of any others please notify me so I can do a special segment on the best.

Joe’s Famous Pizza – Boca Raton – Florida
I was driving to Nino’s Pizza in Boca Raton today for lunch when I passed by Joe’s Famous Pizza in Boca Raton on Powerline Road. I hadn’t eaten at Joe’s for about 6 months due to my last experience when the french fries I ordered tasted like fish, from obviously never cleaning the deep fryer oil.

Sal’s Pizza – Boca Raton – St. Andrews
Always one to give a second chance to a local place, I decided to go to Sal’s Italian Ristorante (long name for pizza place) by the Town Center Mall. I ordered the Sicilian and although it looked good, I cannot say I enjoyed it any better then I did the first time I tried it. The cheese tasted rubbery, the crust wasn’t tasty, and the sauce seemed processed.

Brooklyn Boys Pizza – Boca Raton
Took my parents to Brooklyn Boys since they didn’t want to have to go somewhere to have a waiter or waitress bring us our 2 slices of pizza. I thought once Tony left Brooklyn Boys that the quality would go down, and I was totally amazed at how darn good this pizza was.
The crust was tasty, the cheese was perfect and the sauce was nice and sweet. Even the girl behind the was adorable! I cannot really say anything negative about the pizza, but one thing I can say negative about the overall experience is how terribly filthy this place is. Only those with strong stomachs should venture in the store. The counters are dirty, the pizzas aren’t covered, and half the place looks like it is falling apart.
But since I am not a food safety inspector I will just stick to the pizza now, and I give this 6 out of 8 slices! Well worth the try!
Dominic’s Pizza – Boca Raton – Florida
Sorry about being late posting this one, but last week while my family was in town visiting, my brother in law asked me to take him to a place that consistently provides good food that I hadn’t taken them to before.

Campagnolo – Boca Raton – Florida
A new place just opened up in town called Campagnolo. This new Italian Restaurant replaced Vitos which was truly awful, so I am happy we have a new place to choose from. So my next door neighbor and I gave it about 1 week to open before we tried it and then we decided to embark on our adventure there.

Red Rock Pizza – Boca Raton – Florida
I was working with the design guys on my other site when we got hungry and couldn’t decide where we wanted to eat. We all had different suggestion but the one place we all agreed on was Red Rock Pizza in Boca Raton.

Old Town Tavern – Boca Raton, Florida
Today for a nice Friday lunch I ventured to the east part of town and ate at a place we used to frequent more often then we do lately. The Old Town Tavern has a pretty decent menu, but the pizza wasn’t something I had tried before so I decided today would be the day! As you can see from the photos they do not sell slices here, they only sell individual pies. I was quite surprised by the taste of this pizza, it was actually pretty good compared to some of the places I recently tried. The crust wasn’t very tasty or crisp and had a bit too much of an oily feel to it, but the cheese was fresh and good and the sauce was definitely acceptable! I will give this 4 out of 8 slices!
Bloomin’ Newman’s Pizza – Pizza Express Boca Raton, Florida
On my way back from doing an chore during the workday I decided to grab a quick slice at Bloomin’ Newman’s Pizza (or Pizza Express if that is what it is called now) in Boca Raton, by the Hampton Inn on Yamato. The staff was nice, but their English was not very good. Was hard to place where they were from….maybe Poland or someplace around that region. Anyways, I got the 2 slice special and from the looks of it I thought I would enjoy it. I am not sure what Bloomin’ Newmans’s Pizza uses in their sauce but it didn’t taste like pizza sauce. I read the review I have attached as a photo and think that this reviewer tasted something different than I did. I am from New York and I can assure anyone who reads the other review, that there is NOTHING, New York about this pizza place. This place claims to be home to the $100.00 pizza. Seeing that it is hard for me to pay $2.00 a slice here, I could only imagine how bad the $100.00 version is! I would improve this place by changing the sauce to something tastier and sweeter with less onions and tomato peels in it. Being that this place is new, I was hoping to really enjoy it, but unfortunately I will have to give this only 2 our of 8 slices as a rating.
