Brooklyn Boys Pizza Boca Raton Not The Best They Could Do

Aug 19 2008 by Pizza Expert

Hadn't been back to Brooklyn Boys Pizza in Boca Raton since my parents were here back in May.  During my previous review of Brooklyn Boys Pizza, I noted that the place was filthy.  It came as a shock to me, but it appears the new owners actually spent a few hundred bucks to make the place look less disgusting. Today's trip to Brooklyn Boys included my sons friend and his father.  We ordered a large pie, half meatballs, half pepperoni.  Usually I do not brag about pizza to anyone, but in order to make the dad want to try it, I portrayed this pizza as one of the best that Boca Raton has to offer.  Once again I learned, I should have just kept my mouth shut.  When the pizza came out, it was smoking hot, and looked utterly appetizing.  After it cooled down for a minute or two, we dug in.

Time Square Pizza Fort Lauderdale, Fl

Aug 16 2008 by Billy

Ed. Note:  This is the first post from one of our newest Pizza Experts.  Please join me in welcomming Billy. After running around Fort Lauderdale doing various odds and ends, I found myself in the East Oakland Park area. I was told in the past that there was a great pizza place in this area called Times Square Pizza and I figured now would be the time to check it out. Times Square is a small New York style pizza parlor (hence the name). There are 5 or 6 tables inside with 2 tables just outside, the decor is a mixture of NY landmarks and Miami fan favor. It takes me back to my days of growing up in NY. The pizza kitchen work area is about the size of my Guest Bathroom but, these guys prov

Groovy’s Pizza South Beach Miami - How Totally Un-Groovy

Aug 15 2008 by Pizza Expert

After sitting through a rather unstimulating tech conference in Miami Beach, I walked away in search of pizza.  First place I ended up walking by was called Groovy's Pizza.  Athough quite dirty and abnormally hot inside, I decided to venture inside and try a slice. The slices displayed are uniquely stacked into kaleidoscope shaped designs.  Although this is cool at first glance, and fits into their groovy style name, it is actually quite gross if you think about it.  There were approximately 30 slices in this kaleidoscope, all of which had to be cold enough when stacked so the cheese didn't stick to the crust of the slice that was placed on top of it.  What this tells me is that the pizza was made really early in the morning and left out all day.  T

Pizza Rustica Delray Beach

Aug 14 2008 by Pizza Expert

Pizza Rustica is located on Atlantic Avenue, in Delray Beach.  We previously reviewed Pizza Rustica in Delray several months ago when we ordered in from them during poker night.  Since Pizza Rustica is known for their square slices, it seemed odd that we were delivered round pies.  In the spirit of fairness, I decided it was time to review the square slice as well. Pizza Rustica has an enormous selection of different pizzas to choose from.  Almost too many.  Sometimes having too many choices isn't a good thing either.  They keep their regular square slices in the front window, so they are hard to miss if you just walk into the store and start looking around.  If you happen to miss the plain ones, you might end up spending upwards of $5.00 for a slice. Do not be fooled by my photo here, the pizza is not nearly as huge as it looks.  This is one slice cut up i

Rosa’s Pizza Penn Station New York City

Aug 13 2008 by Pizza Expert

Back when I used to work in Jersey City, I used to take the Long Island Railroad everyday into New York City.  Then walk up an avenue, and take the PATH across the river to New Jersey.  After working a hard day, my only salvation was arriving back at Penn Station to catch my train home, and grab a slice of some heavenly Upside Down Sicilian (or as they call it Red) Pizza. I am sure most of you think I am crazy by this point, actually eating at a place in Penn Station, but I was able to forgive all the filthiness of the surroundings and eat this pizza.  It was only natural that during my trip to New York, I would take the train into the city and grab a slice.  Upon arriving at Rosa's Pizza after all these years in Penn Station, I realized some things had changed.  Instead of hearing the workers speak Spanish to each other, now I was hearing Arabic being used.  Not sure if Rosa's sold this location, but I will have to investigate
