Mama B’s Pizza Aventura Mall Food Court

Mama B’s Pizza is located in the food court of the Aventura mall. After walking by the counter the other day I noticed this thing which appeared to look like a slice of Sicilian. Upon further approach, it was indeed a Sicilian slice.
So I ordered it and paid about $3.00, I forget since I threw away the receipt with the pizza tray, for this slice that was literally the size of my palm. I just had to order it just so I could take a photo and show you what these non caring owners are serving as pizza. In my opinion this slice should have been thrown out and not served to the public. At any stage of the process after cutting the pie they should have noticed the minute size of this slice. They could have noticed how small it was when the visually compared it to the other slices. They could have noticed how small it was when the placed it in the oven. They could have noticed how small it was when they took it back out of the oven. They could have noticed how small it was when they gave it to me. They could have noticed how small it was when they took the money from me. Actually money is a good thing to bring up here. My $5.00 bill was actually a bit bigger then this slice if you could imagine how small the slice was.
Mama B’s in the Aventura Mall either has a blind staff, an incompetent staff, or just a staff who doesn’t give a crap about their jobs and providing a fair portion of food for the price. The slice didn’t even taste that bad, but I was only able to take about 2 bites so it is hard to give an actual review. Most of the slice was crust as you can see by the photo, and the rest of it was about 2 bites if that of cheese and sauce. Shame on you Mama B’s for what seems like in my opinion to be ripping off your customers. Personally I would never go back there, as I feel too slighted by my first experience here. I would have liked to try the regular slice and garlic knots here since I heard from someone the knots are good.
Now I know, nobody told me to order a slice that looked this small, and perhaps there was a small chance that if I brought up the size to someone behind the counter, they might have offered me to get something else instead. So I will be a bit fair in that regards. But since they had no problem serving me this small insult, I have no problem giving it a small amount of slices for their rating. Mama B’s in the Aventura Mall Food Court gets 2 out of 8 slices. They would have gotten 1 but what I did taste wasn’t rancid.
World Pie Pizza Bridgehampton New York

This is a review that has 2 sides of the story. When driving through the lovely Bridgehampton in Long Island, you can not help but notice a lovely storefront with a majestic gold leaf sign that says “World Pie“. I love the name the building and the sign. I have wanted to go to this place for months and finally I talked my wife into going with me.
Bambina’s Pizza South Beach Miami

After having a terrible experience at my hotel, I wandered out in South Beach, hoping to be close enough to get Gino’s Pizza again. My previous experiences there have been good. On the way I passed by Bambina’s Pizza on Washington Avenue.
New Park Pizza Howard Beach New York

I have a love hate relationship with New Park Pizza, located on 156-71 Cross Bay Blvd in Jamaica, NY. It is like my White Castle hamburgers of Pizza. The sauce is very good until I get the slice with way to much. The dough is great and then I get the under cooked slice or burnt slice.
Lombardi’s Pizza New York City First Pizza

This review got me into a bit of a disagreement with worstpizza’s own Pizza Expert. When I said we were going to Lombardi’s, I was told not to bother. I said the first pizzeria of NYC can not simply be surpassed because it was already reviewed by one of the team. I went with 2 longtime friends and Pizza snobs. We had a 10 minute wait but we were at the bar, so who really cares when you have have a cocktail to get the taste buds prepared for some pizza tasting.
Gino’s Pizza Long Beach Best Pizza

Here is my favorite pizza on all of Long Island! Slices at Gino’s Pizza on 16 W Park Ave Long Beach, NY (516) 432-8193 are a different animal then the ones that come on a pie. To get the full pleasure order it by the slice even if you will eat 8 slices yourself. The Sicilian is very good as well. They have a Grandma’s pizza that some people swear by but call me a purest. I love the guy with the hair! Anyone who is familiar with this place knows for over a decade who I mean.
Deco Pizza South Beach Miami

Well, this pizza place in South Beach goes into the file of the places I wished I had never stopped to try. Deco Pizza in South Beach on Washington must be a chain since I passed by two of them not too far apart from each other. Both were pretty empty, so I guess they cater to a late night crowd, which is probably too wasted to actually taste what they are eating. My son and I split a slice here and both thought the same thing about this pizza. Way too much garlic!
Deco Pizza in Miami Beach is a small little shop with a few pizza choices behind their glass counter top. I ordered one slice and when the guy said it was $3.25 in an accent, I was pretty sure I misheard him. $3.25 for a slice in this place! Unfortunately, I heard right. For that price, I expected this pizza to taste much better then it actually did. Once you get past the excessive smell of the garlic, you can try to taste the rest of the pizza. Not sure what they are covering up by using this much garlic in their blend, but something else must be terribly wrong to use this amount.
The cheese was decent, and the crust was crisp. The thing I liked most about this slice was the amount of sauce they had on it. It was relatively a perfect amount compared to the cheese. If only they used a sweeter sauce and less garlic, I think they could improve this pizza dramatically! In my opinion this pizza is better then Groovy’s but far worse tasting then Gino’s down the block. Skip this place and head to Gino’s instead.
I will give Deco Pizza in South Beach 3 out of 8 slices.
Totonnos Pizza New York City – Best Pizza

Totonno’s must be Italian for YUMMO!
I stopped at the Totonno’s on 462 2nd Ave (between 26th & 27th Street) 212.213.8800 after walking back from a closed Una Pizza Napoletana. (see my review) It was 11:45am on a Saturday and I ordered a cold Peroni from the nice girl at the bar. She prepped the bar for the day as I ordered my pizza. I was not expecting the taste explosion I was about to experience. When my pizza came it was cooked to perfection and the taste was far from disappointing.
The four slices of my personal pizza went down as quickly and smoothly as my beer. The manager was a few stools away from me and we talked about Football and point spreads. That is not a topic I get to discuss much since I moved from NY in 1997. I also could not help but notice the fine white pair of capezio shoes that I have not seen a man wear since the 1988 dance party at Channel 80’s in Island Park or 1999 wedding at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens. Any way, if the shoes help make that awesome brick oven pizza, the guys in Florida should buy every pair available.
I loved the people. The Beer was cold, and the pizza was the best pizza I have had in years. I actualy needed to lower my rating on Lombardi’s because of this pizza. If you are in NYC this is my #1 pick! That says alot.
This pizza is a 7 1/2 slices (but since pizzaexpert doesn’t like half slices here, he will change it to a 7) only because I never had an 8 out of 8. I guess I will know it if I ever have one. Until then this is the one to beat. Congrats to Totonno’s and the guy who sold the manager those shoes.
Pizza 33 New York City NYC

In my best old school gangster impersonation “It’s on tirdy tird and tird” notice I did not spell it turd? Pizza 33 address 489 3rd Ave, New York Telephone # 212 545-9191
I went to this pizza place for years and it never misses. The pizza was only a single personal pizza and I wondered if that would make a difference, it did not. The oven is worked and the staff was S. American and definitely not Italian. The Pizza was fantastic and again proves you do not need to be a card carrying red white and green wearing guy named Vinny or Guido.
