On our last day at Universal Studios in Orlando, we met with Sam over by his pool at the Portofino Hotel. When the waiter came to our cabana and handed us menus I was happy to see they had some pizza. My previous day’s pizza was pretty horrible, but we will discuss that in a later review. So I ordered myself a plain pie and hoped for the best.
When the pizza came it looks amazing. The crust was super thin, and crispy, and the cheese was sizzling. My problem with the pizza the other day was their sauce, so I was overjoyed to see that there was very little sauce on this pie. Although the crust tasted a bit watery, it still was a great tasting pie. The cheese tasted great, and what sauce was actually placed on the pie wasn’t too bad.
I must digress, I even ordered a second pie as we were sitting there, since the first one wasn’t too filling due to how thin it was. Never got to eat that pie due to some unfortunate reason. But next time I am up there, I will definitely eat this pizza again. Probably the best pizza I have had anywhere within Universal Studios and Disney.
Portofino Hotel Pizza by the poolside in Orlando gets 5 out of 8 slices.
The other day on the way to Orlando, my family started to complain they were hungry. Since my advising everyone to eat before we left was obviously ignored. Getting stuck in traffic made these hunger pains of theirs amplified, and I figured it was time to stop and eat. We got off the exit in Port St. Lucie, by the new Tradition 1/4 completed community.
Mangia Chicago Stuffed Pizza is located at the Austin Airport. When I saw the sign that said it was like $5.00 a slice I had to waste my money to see if it was worth even $0.50 a slice. Low and behold, it was closer to being worth $0.25
A gem of a restaurant, Pizza Time Caffe is one of my favorite places in Parkland. (954) 345-8665. A little hard to find if your not familiar with the area but definitely worth a detour. They have a beautiful display of different pizza’s and other prepared Italian food, plus a full menu. I don’t even mind the waitress service because it’s a comfortable place to be. I am not sure if they are connected with the fabulous Pizza Time’s in Coral Springs, FL and Boca Raton, FL but its not important.
We sampled 3 slices. The round grandma slice was delicious and the Marinara also very tasty. I didn’t care as much for the regular slice on this trip. It seemed too heavy. Or I was full from the other types. Overall a very nice pizza. And a great surprise is that they participate in the Rewards Network so it’s possible to get an extra 10% off. 6 of 8 slices.
My uncle was nice enough to take the family and I to City Place the other day for dinner at the Kona Grill. Although not known for their pizza, I noticed that it was on their menu, and decided to give it a try.
What you are about to see is absolutely disgusting. If you didn’t think Domino’s Pizza was gross before watching this, you will understand why you shouldn’t eat their food after seeing this.
The newest Pizzeria to open in Boca Raton, FL isn’t in a shopping plaza or strip-mall. It’s in an upscale country club, which is not usually a place I’d go for pizza. And unfortunately, unless you’re a member or friends with a member, you can’t go to either. But the pizza at My Pi isn’t an afterthought, or just something to put on the menu. It is the central theme of the restaurant; from the name, to the giant pizza oven in the middle of the room.
A new pizza place just opened up in Deerfield Beach, Florida. It is called Mona Lisa and located on 2009 NE 2nd St. Deerfield Beach, FL

Since the owner of Nino’s hasn’t already won we me over, by serving some of the best pizza in Boca Raton, Forida, a couple of nights ago he ensured I could never forget him. We were eating at this other place in Nino’s shopping center and I figured I would stop by and say hello to Marco, the owner. I saw a box of King David Matzo sitting on the counter and asked why he had it. He explained that him and the owner of Pastrami Queen were experimenting the other night with making Matzo (Matza) Pizza in the real pizza oven. When he offered to make me one, I couldn’t resist. Considering that it was Matzo….it actually wasn’t that bad. Just goes to show you, that if you use quality ingredients in your sauce, and high quality cheese, you can make anything taste decent. This Matzo Pizza tasted better then some of the other locat places around town. Here are the photos:
