Mi Pi: Boca West Country Club Pizza
Slice Rating
The newest Pizzeria to open in Boca Raton, FL isn’t in a shopping plaza or strip-mall. It’s in an upscale country club, which is not usually a place I’d go for pizza. And unfortunately, unless you’re a member or friends with a member, you can’t go to either. But the pizza at My Pi isn’t an afterthought, or just something to put on the menu. It is the central theme of the restaurant; from the name, to the giant pizza oven in the middle of the room.
Yes, that’s right, in the middle of the restaurant is a display kitchen where you can watch your pizza being prepared and baked right in front of your eyes on a Hickory Visual Pizza Oven. Even though this could be one of the worst website I have seen recently (give us an email guys to help) check out the way it works.
There are even bar stools for you to sit at if you want to watch the pizza makers at work. A steel wheel rotates the pizza through an 1800 degree salamander type oven. At 1.7 rotations per minute, the pizza is cooked in 5 or 6 minutes. All while you watch (if you want). We sampled the NY style pizza and it was beyond our expectations. We also had a margherita pizza which was delicious and a Mexican Pizza....on the advice of the restaurant manager, which was delicious. I was invited by my friend Shelly to review the pizza for www.worstpizza.com, because I am not a member of Boca West Country Club. We had a very nice lunch with an interesting mix of people. The pizza gets 6 out of 8 slices. Congratulations to Boca West for such a fine venue. Its time to get a piece of the pie!
