Chuck E. Cheese Boca Raton – The Mice Make a Good Slice
I guess you can tell by reading my reviews that I REALLY like pizza. And
apparently, I go to a lot of kids birthday parties where pizza is served.
The other day I was at Chuck E Cheese which obviously serves pizza. I can’t remember if I ever had their pizza before, but I assumed it would be vile.
However, it wasn’t that bad. The sauce wasn’t nasty. It wasn’t too heavy.
I actually ate 3 slices. Now I would not go out of my way for the stuff,
but the mice make a good slice. 4 out of 8 slices.
Vendettas Pizza Vail Colorado Not The Worst Pizza Anymore

Reviewed by Herb
Anyone who has spent any time in Vail Colorado knows Vendetta’s Italian. Right across from Phil Long’s, Red Lion Pub, Vendetta’s has become the destination for late night Pizza after a long night of partying. As far as why people go to Vendetta’s is simple – it’s the only place open that late at night. As such I must admit in the past I have been on line there only to receive a slice of their poor pizza. After taking a bite back then I remember throwing it down vowing never to return. Well the other day I was walking through Vail Village and smelled what smelled like delicious pizza. As I walked closer I couldn’t believe my eyes it was leading to Vendetta’s. The place looked the same dank and well a little skanky but alas the pizza smelled good. I had no choice but to investigate. I sat out on the back deck outside and ordered a pizza with pepperoni and meatballs and to my surprise it was actually good, well to be honest much better than good it was very good. I was shocked and almost disappointed that the pizza was very good as I was expecting to write a very negative review. Well I guess that sums it up Vendetta’s has redeemed itself. So go ahead stroll over to Vendetta’s and have that slice late night you’ll be happy you did.

Who Says New York Pizza Is Better? Colosseo Pizza in Port Jefferson Isn’t

Each year Aol puts out a cities best guide, to let the locals know which place is the best in different categories. One of our readers here at worstpizza sent me this list of their picks for best pizza in Long Island, New York, since I was visiting my famiy last week there.
click here to read the list
I ordered 1 regular and 1 Sicilian and Greg ordered a regular and a grandma slice. The Sicilian was better then the regular, but neither was better then a place like Nino’s Pizza in Boca Raton. It would be naturally assumed that pizza in New York would be held to a higher standard and that the patrons eating at these establishments would demand high quality food. For all those who vote for this place, I suggest leaving your little town of Port Jefferson and experiencing what else the world or just other towns in Long Island have to offer.
The main problem with this slice is the sauce. The cheese tasted good and the crust was flimsy, but still ok. Colosseo, you need to change your sauce to something less acidic. Try sweetening it up a bit and allow the pizza to cook longer to get crispy. You might want to consider leaving your sauce simmering in the oven throughout the day and then placing the sauce on the pizza you are about to make already hot.
It will be terribly difficult for me to give any validity to the AOL cityguide for future reference. Since in New York city and the boroughs they seemed pretty spot on I thought I could trust them for Long Island. Needless to say, their number one pick I agree with, is great (watch for review of Umberto’s Of New Hyde Park) but the rest of the ones I have tried, including Emilio’s, Massas, fail to meet the standards I look for. I am giving Colosseo Pizza in Port Jefferson New York 4 out of 8 Slices. Try Albert’s Pizza in Ronkonkoma instead! My suggestion to CityGuide: Use Me Next Year to Help!

Albert’s Pizza Ronkonkoma Long Island New York Best Pizza

If you have not tried Albert’s Pizza in Ronkonkoma, New York, located out east in Long Island, you are missing what could be the best pizza I have eaten in Long Island. While at the Boomers party the other day, my sister introduced me to this guy named Rich. Rich owns Albert’s Pizza in Ronkonkoma and we started talking about worstpizza.com

Boomers Pizza Medford Long Island

While out visiting the family in Long Island, my sister took me to a birthday party for one of her friends children at Boomers in Medford Long Island. Boomers is not known for their pizza, but rather for their arcade and rides for children, so let’s make sure we start the review off knowing this. My original purpose of this visit was not for pizza. The fact they had pizza was an added benefit.
When the pizza came, I was at first reluctant to have any since I knew I would be traveling throughout other points of Long Island to try some other places with Greg. But watching everyone else eat made me hungry so I found the smallest slice and ate it. The crust was crispy, the cheese was hot and the dough was soft. It was actually pretty good considering the venue. Obviously I am not recommending to go to Boomers (we also have a Boomers in Boca Raton) to get a slice of pizza. If you happen to be at a party there and you are hungry, it is worth eating. Compared to other places around that offer similar quality of pizza, I would have to say Boomers is above average.
Boomers gets their pizza from an outside supplier who delivers to many types of places of this caliber, so there is a chance you can also find this pizza at other places. It is easily recognizable by the mixture of cheese they use. It is certainly not mozzarella cheese. Therefore, my obvious suggestion to the company that makes the pizza for Boomers, is to stop using that processed stuff and get into better quality. The dough is a bit thick, and needs to be thinned out more before baking and rising. I will give Boomers in Medford Long Island 3 out of 8 slices.
Antico Forno Boston Little Italy
Reviewed by Herb

As a fan of WorstPizza.com and a friend of its founder I have seen Lapp review quite few slices of pizza, so while I was away in Bostons’ North End or Little Italy, I figured I would add my first review. After trying to get into Giacamos and failing (at least 30 people were waiting in the rain to get in) I took a walk to another local favorite and 2006, 2007 and 2008 AOL best of boston restaurants Antico Forno at 93 Salem Street to see if it lived up to the review. The restaurant first of all is small and tight so hopefully you like the people next to you because they are practically at your table and the others just keep bumping into your chair as they walk by as you eat. The staff is efficient but I wouldn’t say friendly either. It is off the main drag of Hanover Street a few blocks from Mikes Pastry (the best Cannolis in the World) and Paul Reveres House. Once at the 18 table eatery I decided to try the Margharita Pizza. The Pizza at Dinner is $11.50 and is well to be frank – quite small 8” at best fitting on a standard dinner plate. When the pizza arrived it looked a bit wet as it had a small puddle welled up in the center. Expecting the worst I took the first slice out to find that the “puddle” was actually watery sauce and not oil at least. Suprisingly the pizza itself was not wet at all but was crisp and thin crusted. The ingredients all tasted very fresh and tasted nice with hints of basil and fresh tomatoes under a light I mean light layer of mozzarella cheese. This was not a cheesy pizza at all and if that is what you are looking for you should look elsewhere. Overall the pizza was very good and would seem to be directed at a health conscious eater more acquainted with Seasons 52 rather than Bostons North End rich in Italian culture. At the end of the day the Pizza is fine if your looking for fresh fare but if your looking for great Pizza in Boston this ain’t it. I would give Antico Forno in Boston 6 out of 8 slices. So I would say ‘fo’ get about I’t and try the place three doors down that smelled awesome which is what I should have done in the first place. Not a loss all together at least I got a fantastic Cannoli and Macaroon at Mikes.

Carolina’s Pizza Delray Beach Coal Fired Pizza
Carolina’s Coal Fired Pizza & Pasta recently opened up in Delray Beach Florida. Some would consider this the closest place to home cooking, since after all, it is actually located in a house! Scott and I decided to go there the other day and try it out. The restaurant is charming to walk up to. As you go onto the extended porch you can view the menu. Once you walk inside you are immediately greeted by a bubbly hostess.
Carolina’s smelled absolutely amazing when we walked through the door. There was this haunting aroma of fresh pizza throughout the whole place. We couldn’t wait to dig in. We ordered a plain pie from the attractive looking waitress from Italy. Until the pizza actually arrived, we weren’t sure she even understood what we ordered. Luckily she got it right. We both enjoyed our first bite of the pie. Personally, I didn’t like the fresh basil on top of the pizza, but remember I like my pizza totally plain so I can get the actual taste without anything to hide the poor quality. Scott didn’t find anything initially wrong either.
It was only after we were eating the pizza, that we realized as it got colder it started to taste less and less as good. The cheese started to harden, and became quite thick instead of gooey. One of the common downfalls to coal/wood fired pizza is that they cool down as quickly as they heat up. Other places having similar ovens are Red Rock Pizza in Boca Raton, Coal Mine Pizza in Boca Raton and Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza in Boca Raton.

Once the pizza cooled down, the cheese became almost chewy and thick. The good original taste, slowly seemed to fade into a not so delicious tasting pizza.
Overall, the atmosphere at Carolina’s Pizza is great. There are tv’s all over the walls and the decor is real comfortable. My suggestions to Carolina’s Pizza would be to use a less spicy sauce. Since there is little cheese on your pies, the sauce is something that we tasted the most. Therefore it should be a nice sweet tasting sauce that is memorable. The only thing memorable about the sauce was how spicy and acid like it was. When it comes to the cheese, I would try to slice the fresh mozz. thinner in anticipation of it hardening up. This way when it ultimately hardens up, it isn’t so chewy and thick. I will give Carolina’s Pizza in Delray Beach 6 out of 8 slices. Another helpful thing would be to find at least a few staff members who speak English! I read another review from a local guy who thinks this pizza is as good as some of the best places in NY, and I must encourage him to rethink this! Perhaps he has been out of New York too long to remember!

Boca Pizza – Pizza With a View

If you are looking for a quality pizza place in Boca Raton, where you can eat delicious pizza and watch college girls walk in and out with bikinis, have I got the place for you! BOCA PIZZA!
Boca Pizza is located on Palmetto Park Road by the Beach. Just one block west of the beach actually on the north side. Do not expect anything pretty here except for the patrons. The place is a bit run down, but it is just a pizza joint, and if you are ok eating some of the best pizza in Boca Raton without having all the Boca touches, you will love this place.

I ordered up a regular slice, which looked more like a 1/4 of a slice. The slices are utterly puny here, so if you are hungry make sure you order more then one. I also got a sicilian slice. Both of them came out hot and crispy and were just spectacular. The pizza maker/owner is from Italy and obviously learned to make a quality pie back home. His cheese : Sauce was perfect. Very little sauce is used on the regular slice. Upon your first bite, you will notice that the cheese tastes a little different, since he cares enough to only use the finest ingredients. The menu here is very minimal, which I think adds to the time and care he spends in making his specialties. He does claim to have the best meatball you will ever taste, but I have yet to prove that.
If I lived closer to this establishment, I would eat there several times a week. It is the most unique tasting pizza around the Boca Raton area. There are very few things I would change, but the most notable thing would be the size of the slice. When I say small…..I mean small, so be prepared to spend $2.25 a slice for what would be a quarter of a slice elsewhere. Additionally I would use less oregano on the sicilian slices. They taste perfectly fine without the additives! Boca Pizza gets 6 out of 8 slices, and if I added the bikini views into the review, he would have gotten an 8!

Big City Pizza Boca Raton – Stays Consistent

Unlike Rotelli’s Pizza and Sal’s Pizza in Boca Raton, my second visit to Big City Pizza was just as good as my first. This was a pleasant surprise, since all of my previous follow up visits to places were let downs.
Big City Pizza actually even noticed me taking photos of the pizza and commented “oh! we have a spy amongst us” and I explained who I was and that I actually enjoyed their Sicilian pizza. I explained that there was nothing special about their regular slice. Usually a restaurant pays extra attention to me when they realize what site I am from, but these guys just went about their business and ignored me, which I really respected! It is nice to know that I found a place I could just walk into and get a decent slice that I can carry myself to the table, located within a couple of miles from my office.
I am going to give Big CIty Pizza 5 out of 8 slices, and I will frequent this place more often then any of the other places around the Yamato Road corridor. Big City Pizza, it would be great if you could get fountain beverages!

Times Square Pizza Boca Raton – Floppy Pizza
Reviewed by Matt

Times Square Pizza has recently reopened in Boca Raton, FL (561) 393-6757. It seems like it was closed forever during the renovation. Now that it’s open again it looks… the same.
As far as I can tell, I don’t see a difference between how it used to look and now. The restaurant
is not open yet, but the pizzeria is open so here is an early review.
Whileyou can order at the counter (a real plus for us here at the worstpizza.com building), the tables are really small. You can’t even call it a table. It’s more like a shelf, forcing the eater to stare at a blank wall. The
pizza is OK. My best description for it is floppy. The cheese flops over the side, and floppy is just the feel of the slice. It was also a little heavy for my taste. I like a lighter slice.
Overall, its good for a neighborhood place. Nothing fancy. I give it 4 slices out of 8. The pizza was better than OK for south Florida, and I would go back after they officially reopen to review it again.
