Pizza and Porn – OK in the Dorm, Not OK at the Restaurant
Squiggy’s in Fort Lauderdale needs a serious scrub down before I’ll ever eat there again. I don’t want to be a prude, but I’m kind of picky about what I want around my food. Other people having sex on the counter where my pizza is being made? Not on my list of things I consider kosher.
Here’s how it went down, for anyone who hasn’t already seen this in the news. A film maker named Pervert Pete (I’m guessing that’s a pseudonym) has a website called CrazyClubChicks.com on which he promotes porn scene videos at various voyeuristic and public places around Florida. His latest is a two-part series of movies filmed at Squiggy’s.

Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza Boca Raton Offers $10 Off For Leaving Comment Here
Just got this email across my desk from a loyal reader. I couldn’t understand why I was getting dozens of comments on a post I did about Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza back in February of 2009. Now I know why. You see the owner of Steve’s finally took time away from trying to attack those that don’t like his place on the comment board here, and instead decided to do something proactive over one year and a half later. Check out the email he sent to his mailing list:

Carlucci’s Pizza Fort Lauderdale
It had been a long time since my old friend that owned Carlucci’s in Parkland moved away, and I hadn’t really eaten at onc since. When the opportunity came to meet an associate from Fort Lauderdale somewhere in between, I recalled that there was another Carlucci’s off Cypress Creek Road in Northern Ft. Lauderdale. We agreed to meet at this location for lunch.
I purposely arrived early to see if I could find the owner, who was the brother to my friend from Parkland….wasn’t sure he even owned this place anymore. Low and behold there he was, and after so many years of not seeing him, he hadn’t changed a bit. Took him a few looks to recognize me, but after giving me a nasty “why the hell are you staring at me guy” kind of look, he said “Craig”? After a hug and a handshake he threw a slice in the oven for me, and we started talking about the old days together.

Pizza and Waitresses Don’t Mix
I grew up in Long Island, where I began my love affair with pizza. I love a good pie, which is why I made this website. There’s something that irks me, though, and until now, it hadn’t quite settled in with me as to what exactly it was. The other day, at a pizza joint ordering a couple of slices, it finally connected and I realized what it is that bothers me about Florida pizza. It’s not the pizza at all.
It’s the wait staff.

Mirage Hotel Las Vegas Cravings Buffet Pizza
The first thing I usually think of when hearing Buffets is GROSS. Especially when you are visiting Las Vegas and paying like $15+ for said buffet. During my recent stay at the Mirage Hotel on the Vegas Strip, I visited one of these usually overpriced, gross buffets named Cravings. Cravings is located toward the guest elevators in the casino. I was so happy to see that during the breakfast buffet, they had pizza!

The Best Online Pizza Ordering Experience
Ed Note: Usually I do not reprint press releases I receive, but since so many people don’t care about their health and support their local mom and pop places during football season, I figured I would reprint this.
STELLAService, the first and only company dedicated to publishing objective, in-depth ratings on the service quality of online businesses, today announced the results of a comprehensive study showing that Domino’s Pizza outperforms both Papa John’s and Pizza Hut in offering the highest quality customer experience when ordering pizza online. In the past year, STELLAService has rated the online customer service of more than 300 retailers. This week’s report is STELLAService’s first foray into the food delivery space. It comes at an especially appropriate time as football fans begin gathering and ordering pizza for the start of the NFL and college football seasons.
Through an exhaustive assessment measuring over 200 metrics, features and services of the online ordering experience for each of the big three pizza chains, STELLAService was able to zero in on the overall online capabilities and performance of each company. The results of the study provide much-needed transparency and guidance for pizza lovers looking for a no-hassle way to order pizza online. The full report was published today at stellaservice.com.

Legacy Lodge Pizza Lake Lanier, Georgia
If you haven’t been to Lake Lanier Georgia, then you are missing some beautiful scenery. We were invited there recently to be guests of a product launch, and took the opportunity to spend some time at the Legacy Lodge on Lake Lanier. Lake Lanier is located about 1 hour northwest of Atlanta.
As we were driving to the lake I noticed that most of the pizzerias in the area were located in gas stations. My stomach turned and I realized we might be getting further from civilization based upon this. Upon arriving at the lodge we were shown to our rooms and immediately onto a cruise. The second day while checking out, I passed by this heat lamp that had something resembling a pizza underneath it.

Famiglia Pizza New York City
After leaving New Rochelle, we headed back into NYC, which I was happy about. Hadn’t been back home for a while, so I was craving some city pizza. We had several meetings to attend which weren’t really exciting enough to keep me from day dreaming about pizza. As we left our second meeting and started walking towards the third, we passed Famiglia Pizza along the way. At first I didn’t want to go into it since it seemed like the same place I saw earlier in the day somewhere else in the city. I am not really one to enjoy chains. But when I saw the garlic knots through the window, I decided it was time to stop in and give it a try.
