Allegro Pizza Wynn Hotel Las Vegas

Allegro Pizza Wynn Hotel Las Vegas

After spending the day losing money and gazing at cocktail waitresses in some lovely outfits, I worked up an appetite and went to meet Evan for a bite to eat. It was late and we didn’t really want to venture far, so since we were at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas we checked around for a pizza place. We walked around for a while and couldn’t find anything so we finally swallowed our male pride and asked one of those lovely cocktail waitresses where we could get some pizza. She told us the best pizza could be found towards the front of the hotel and was called Allegro. We headed over to Allegro and couldn’t wait to try the best that the Wynn Hotel had to offer.

Once seated, I started to flip through the menu and found the only part I cared about.. the pizza. Allegro is super fancy and has Wood Stone Pizza, this must be very different than Wood Fired Pizza, or Wood Oven Pizza, or Stone Oven Pizza, or Stone Bottomed Pizza or whatever the heck these places will call it to try to make people think their pizza is better sounding than tasting. I ordered the Margherita pizza with no basil. It was $19 which was a little pricey, but then again so are many things at the Las Vegas hotels.

When the pizza from Allegro Pizza Wynn Hotel Las Vegas arrived at the table it wasn’t what I expected. This was a rustic style thin pie in an oblong shape. It was a nice sized pizza and I started thinking maybe the $19 wasn’t such a bad deal. Sorry, I meant to say this was a nice sized wood stone pizza. Please forgive me Allegro. I took the first bite and wasn’t too blown away by the taste. Although the pizza from Allegro was nice looking, it wasn’t so nice a taste. I truly expected more from Chef Enzo Febbraro.

The crust lacked taste, it was bland and really underwhelming, but at least contained a good crispness to it . The sauce was decent and the cheese tasted fresh. The cheese was probably my favorite part of this pie, since it tasted like a quality blend.

Based upon the time of night, and our unwillingness to hop in an Uber and go to another hotel, I guess beggars can’t be choosers. At least we got pizza. Usually when I am starving, some otherwise average pizza places taste better. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case and I didn’t finish the pie. If you go with someone, these pizzas technically are big enough to feed two, so consider that prior to ordering your own.

Allegro Pizza Wynn Hotel Las Vegas gets 4 out of 8 slices. It isn’t a place I would rush back to for the pizza, but maybe the other dishes are good there and deserve a try.

Pizza Rock Las Vegas

Pizza Rock Las Vegas had its turn to be reviewed. While in Las Vegas the other day we went to many of our local favorites. We went to Secret Pizza at The Cosmopolitan to begin the trip and slowly worked our way through several others. One of the pizza places downtown that I have heard of for having the best pizza in las vegas was this newer place called Pizza Rock.

Pizza Rock is located a block off of the Freemont Street Experience. We actually stumbled upon the place by accident, before we even started looking for it. From the outside, it didn’t look like much, but once we entered we were surprised with how big the place was. Pizza Rock has an 11-time World Pizza Champion as a partner, so I was expecting a good pizza here.

D.O.C.G Cosmopolitan Hotel Pizza Las Vegas

It is hard to expect much when it comes to pizza in Las Vegas, especially when you just found the secret pizzeria in the Cosmopolitan Hotel and it blew you away. We decided to make a reservation at D.O.C.G upstairs and try out the offerings they had. Luckily enough we made our reservations early, since this place seems to pack up around the weekend evenings.

D.O.C.G has an outdoor eating area, and although I was well aware we were indoors, it really did give me the feeling of being on an outdoor walkway enjoying a meal, that is if we got a seat outside. We ended up inside and I noticed they had a pizza on the menu. I ordered a Margherita and prayed for the best.

Secret Pizza at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Best Pizza Slice

secret_pizza_vegas.jpg

Just got back from a trip with the family to Las Vegas. We had an opportunity to stay at the ever so chic Cosmopolitan Hotel, on the Vegas Strip. This was our first time being able to stay at this trendy hotel, so I was really looking forward to the experience, and see if the hype lived up to its expectations.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel is located next to the Bellagio Hotel, and man, did we have an awesome view of the water show. Anyways, I am not here to be some travel guide, I am here to discuss pizza. Before arriving in Vegas, I never checked out The Cosmopolitan website to see what food choices they offered. Most hotels have a food court of some kind, many of which house at least a pizza place. After checking in, I couldn’t believe it, but The Cosmopolitan didn’t list any pizza places outside of the D.O.C.G restaurant, which made a Neapolitan style pie. We will be reviewing this pizza in a few days.

Best Pizza in Las Vegas is Pizzeria Enzo in Henderson

Safe to say I have found the best pizza located around the greater Las Vegas area.  Just outside of Las Vegas is a town called Henderson.  It is about a 20 minute drive from the Vegas strip. Located in this old Vegas town is one of the best pizza places I have encountered recently. Pizzeria Enzo is without a doubt worth leaving the strip for, in order to get some good pizza.

Funny story how I actually came to learn about Pizzeria Enzo. I grew up in Long Island, where every shopping center has a pizza place. Normally every person swears by their local place, but we were fortunate enough to have a place called Raimo’s nearby. I haven’t met someone from the area who doesn’t brag about the pizza here. Anyways, the owners son went to my high school, so I knew him in passing. Recently I reviewed the pizza at Raimo’s and of course, gave their Sicilian a high slice ranking (even though their website is as ugly as it could get). It really is some of the best out there.

Mirage Hotel Las Vegas Cravings Buffet Pizza

The first thing I usually think of when hearing Buffets is GROSS. Especially when you are visiting Las Vegas and paying like $15+ for said buffet. During my recent stay at the Mirage Hotel on the Vegas Strip, I visited one of these usually overpriced, gross buffets named Cravings.  Cravings is located toward the guest elevators in the casino. I was so happy to see that during the breakfast buffet, they had pizza!

Enoteca San Marco The Venetian Hotel Las Vegas

While I am usually a purist when it comes to toppings, I admit I love a good
clam pie.  That’s what I was thinking when I saw one on the menu of this
Mario Batali Restaurant in Las Vegas.  While I had a reservation, the
restaurant was “hawking menus” to everyone passing by and was very surprised
when I brushed the menu away and insisted I did, in fact, plan on eatingthere.  This was not a very well run restaurant.  Service just seemed
awkward and off.  When I finally got the pizza though, I had to laugh.  Just
LOOK at the picture!  How is someone supposed to eat a pizza with SHELLS on
it.  I folded the slice and jokingly tried to eat it.  I had to pick the
shells out of the hot cheese?  This was completely ridiculous.  Again, look
at the picture.  0 of 8 slices.
