Umberto’s Pizza of Long Island Boca Raton- CLOSED

In the space that formerly housed Carlucci’s Pizza in West Boca Raton for numerous years, you can now find the newly opened Umberto’s of Long Island.  Please do not confuse Umberto’s of Long Island with Umberto’s of New Hyde Park.  As we have pointed out in previous reviews here, there is no relation outside of some brothers who from our last accounts don’t even really speak.

Joseph’s Classic Market Pizza Boca Raton

josephs.jpgjosephs_italian.jpgA new Italian market opened up in Boca Raton at the Boca Center, occupying the space where Bombay Kids used to be. Known as Josephs Classic Italian Market, they have a variety of freshly prepared foods and even a pizza oven. If Bombay Kids would have sold pizza they probably would have had a better chance of serving one that I would like.

Authentic Brooklyn Pizza in Boca Raton

All good things come out of Brooklyn, don’t they? The Dodgers, my Grandma, and damn good pizza.

And eventually, all good things that come out of Brooklyn migrate somewhere else. The Dodgers went to Los Angeles, my Grandma went to Century Village, and Authentic Brooklyn Pizza came to Boca Raton.

PizzaTweetup at Nino’s of Boca

pizzatweetup.pngLast night we had an impromptu mini PizzaTweetup event at Nino’s of Boca.  Although we were only supposed to have 20 people max show up for the event, we actually ended up with 34.  When people started canceling on me, I was actually quite relieved since I didn’t want the owner to be angry. Thank goodness it was not an excessively busy night there, as it usually is.  About an hour prior to the event, the owner texted me saying the place was packed and all tables were still occupied.  I feared that when we all arrived, we wouldn’t have anyplace to sit, and I would have disappointed many who came to try this great pizza.
