Buca Di Beppo Wellington, FL

I was pretty upset when the Buca Di Beppo closed in Fort Lauderdale, it used to be one of my favorite places to go and pig out at. The management there was exceptional, and it just always seemed like a comfortable place to go and enjoy some pasta. There was another Buca Di Beppo in Wellington, FL that opened a few years ago, that used to be great, but when the woman running the place Becky (I think was her name) left, it seemed to go down the tubes in my opinion, and I stopped going there, since the food came out wrong several times.

When I was visiting a friend in nearby Lake Worth (way out west), we decided to go take the families and eat, and Buca Di Beppo in Wellington seemed like a great choice, especially since he had a coupon. So we headed over there and waited for about 20 minutes, until we were seated. The best part about any Buca Di Beppo is the ability to sit in the kitchen, and if you haven’t tried it yet, it is worth the experience. You get to see all the food being made, and the staff shows you the dishes and explains them before they head out to the tables to be served.

Pizza Barn Loxahatchee Florida

As a recovering New Yorker I often view pizza as a quick food staple and one of the frustrations of living in South Florida is the lack of corner pizza joints where you can simply grab a slice. I am almost certain by now that you have read Pizza Expert’s rantings on this topic, and I actually agree completely with him since the whole practice of having to wait for a slice is silly, especially when you can just grab it yourself like they do where I am from.

Yet I am always hopeful that I will find the one place that reminds me of home (just without the snow) and recently while driving around the acreage in Loxahatchee I found myself inexplicably drawn to The Pizza Barn. While the whole Barn theme seemed to fit in this area of the world, it didn’t quite scream pizza to me.

Pizza Stop West Palm Beach, FL

Was with Raph the other day coming home from a Radio show when we got a call from a client to help out one of their sales associates and curious if we could meet her at a specific shopping center in West Palm Beach. Since it was literally down the block from the radio station, we agreed. Arriving early (like I always do), I realized there was a pizza place in this shopping center, where we were supposed to meet the salesgirl. Too bad we agreed to Panera, instead of pizza. Anyways, since we had more than enough time to grab a slice at this pizza place called Pizza Stop, I did.

Delizia Pizza West Palm Beach, FL

Usually we like to bring some food to the hungry folks at the stations of some on-air stuff we do. Normally we would just stop by Wendy’s or Mc Donald’s and order off the $0.99 menu. On this evening, I decided I wanted some pizza (what a surprise) and I googled for the closest place, which turned out to be a place I had never even heard of. The place was called Delizia Pizza and it was located to the north of the Forum building in West Palm Beach.

I called up and ordered a plain pie and asked for directions, since I never even knew there was a decrepit shopping center behind these office towers. When we arrived, we unlocked the doors and ran out, to avoid any drive by bullets that might be flying in the area (I am exaggerating obviously, but always wanted to say that). Obviously this was a little rough of an area as far as I am concerned. The place smelled good inside and the foreign owner who I think could be Moroccan (couldn’t be sure) told me his pizza is the best New York Pizza around. Well, what do you know….another New York Pizza place not located in New York, and not made by someone from New York. Seriously it says it is #1 rated New York Style Slice. Curious to know who rated them this, outside of the owner.

Luigi’s Pizza West Palm Beach – Second Try

On my first try of Luigi’s Pizza in downtown West Palm Beach, I wasn’t overly impressed with the pie they served me. It was inundated with flour, the and the pizza was pretty much average. Was nothing I would go out of the way for. The sauce was the part of the pie I didn’t care for. I knew if Luigi’s Pizza could rework their sauce, and put some TLC in the preparation of their pizza, Luigi’s could make a decent pie. I said I would give Luigi’s in West Palm Beach another chance, and the other day I did.

Camilli’s Pizza Lake Park, FL

After finally buying an Eco-Friendly car, we decided to celebrate and go try out the pizza place which my salesperson said was the best in the area. Since I never seem to learn who I listen to when it comes to pizza suggestions, I for some odd reason trusted him, and went to Camilli’s Pizza in Lake Park. Even though I know this has nothing to do with the review, Lake Park must have been nice in its day (it certainly isn’t anymore). It has all the makings for a real cute southern main street, but somehow let the outside elements get to it, and now it just appears desolate and run down.

Normally if a place is open for 42 years, like Camilli’s Pizza, it is safe to say that they are either really damn good, or all of the other places are just really bad. I naturally thought the first statement would be suitable, since this old looking inconspicuous pizza joint, was kind of busy during the off hour we went. The young server came to the table in the arcade section of this dated place. We had no idea where to sit, if we were even seated in the right section, if we should order at the counter or wait. We ordered a plain pie and some garlic bread with cheese.

Luigi’s Pizza West Palm Beach, FL

It seems kind of odd that two pizzeria’s would be located next to each other in Downtown West Palm Beach, but low and behold, if you go to Pizza Girls, you might notice that there is a new Italian Restaurant next door selling Pizza as well. The new establishment is called Luigi’s and it is located right on Clematis Street, I decided to go and try it out the other night with Herb and Jeremy.

While enjoying some drunk girl trying to give a pole dance on a light post outside (which usually makes a dining experience much nicer) we waited a bit for our server to arrive. When our server eventually came he was extremely nice, knowledgeable and pleasant. He took our drink orders and we began watching the show again. Times like this I wish I had some singles.

Luigi’s by the way, contact me to get a new website, what you have is not gonna cut it.

Bella Pizza 2 West Palm Beach, Fl Clematis Street Pizza

Went up to my uncles condo in West Palm Beach to go to my cousins child birthday party. My uncle was courteous enough to order in some pizza from Pizza Bella 2 for us with some garlic knots. I asked him why he chose this location and he told me it is a nice tasting pie with some of the fairest prices in town.

The pie looked tasty enough when I opened it, so I grabbed a slice and a couple of garlic knots, just to see what they tasted like. While eating I read up to see where Bella Pizza 2 was in West Palm Beach and realized it is located on Clematis Street, where another type of European Cafe was.  I forget the name.

Angelas Pizza South Florida Fair

Its that time of year again, time for the FAIR. And we had to go right away. Amid all the great treats to eat, Mrs. Pizza wanted to get a slice. And I dont blame her. Luckily for her, she had me, and I had my iPhone, but mostly me. I pulled up my prior reviews of pizza at the fair so I knew which places to avoid. We decided to try something new though (what we do for our fans). And we are GLAD WE DID.

Zuccarelli’s Italian Kitchen West Palm Beach Did Not Close – They Moved Across the Street

I almost fainted last night when I arrived back into West Palm Beach and immediately headed towards one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in the West Palm area. Zuccarelli’s Italian Kitchen has been serving some of the best Italian Food and Pizza for over 20 years. We even had a #chevypizzacrawl there, to show people from South Florida just how good it was. When I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed that Zuccarelli’s was closed, and abandoned. After so many years of serving quality food, I couldn’t believe they were closed. My family and I pulled out of the shopping center in disbelief and disappointment.
