My son ordered the pizza from Maggiano’s in Boca Raton the other day after putting up a fight that he didn’t want to eat anything there. Not sure why, but throughout his entire life, he has always seemed to be against anything we wanted to do. Kinda like that song from Groucho Marx “whatever it is, I’m against it.” Maggiano’s Pizza.
I’ll never forget the first time I ate at Wowie’s Sports Bar in Boca Raton. It was the first day of the 2009-2010 football season, and the Pittsburgh Steelers just beat the Tennessee Titans in overtime, 13-10. It was also the day I ate one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had.
After arriving home to South Florida after an awesome weekend in Vegas, I found myself craving pizza. I had been home for about an hour when I decided to give my good buddy, @lapp, a call and see if he wanted to meet for pizza. We decided to meet at Annie’s Pizza and Subs in Boca Raton over by FAU. He explained to me that it was a little hard to find and you can read about its location in his previous review of Annie’s on worstpizza.com.
We were honored to appear on an amazing segment last night on WPTV News Channel 5 NBC! They did a few minute segment on our site, and on where to find the best pizza in Palm Beach County.

We are just receiving word that La Pizza in Boca Raton, right next to Mizner Park has closed. After some unfortunate family issues, we guess the owner couldn’t handle it anymore. I have to tell you, we are deeply sorry to see this place goes. This was one of the better mom and pop places around the area, and had a loyal local following. Guess the immediate local crowd was supportive enough though.
From our previous review, you can see we thought they made exceptional crust here. We even gave them a 5 out of 8. The place was so quaint inside, and when you walked in they smiled and made you feel at home. Boca has lost out on one of the good guys. We hope to see him again soon, and reopen once things straighten out for him! This is not the type of pizza place that should have gone out of business. Come on people, step up and reward your local pizzeria, instead of ordering that cardboard crap.

Last night we had our largest turnout ever for a PizzaTweetup. Thanks to the over 100 pizza lovers who attended last nights event at Wild Olives by Todd English, in Boca Raton, Florida. We were served dozens of their flat bread creations, and drinks were priced extremely generous. Thanks to the wonderful staff for accommodating such a huge amount of people at once.

Wild Olives has invited us all to their restaurant for a PizzaTweetup in conjuction with @worstpizza and @dinemag. They will serve a selection of their flat breads. This includes:’ Margarita — Roasted tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil Fig and Prosciutto — Crispy Rosemary crust, fig and balsamic jam, gorgonzola cheese Bronx Bomber –Pepperoni, roasted tomato, mozzarella cheese Bianca — Rapinni, roasted garlic, caramelized onion, 4 cheeses Shrimp and Chorizo — 
We are getting reports that Wowies in Boca Raton, has recently been sold. This could only improve the pizza that they had since it really couldn’t get worse according to Dori’s review here.
We look forward to going to Wowies and eating there again, to hopefully give a much better review then the previous visit. We hear the new owners name is Sofia, and we wish her a tremendous amount of luck in her new endeavor.

The Lodge in Boca Raton, a place known for their craft beer selection, also boasts two varieties of pizza on the menu: cheese and BBQ chicken, but actually calling these creations pizza requires a stretch of the imagination.
