Cheeseboard Pizza Collective is a worker owned collective of 12 people who served a different pizza each day. It is located in North Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto. They also serve a single type of salad. Cash or check only. There can be a line around the block at peak times. It is next door to the Cheese Board Collective, which sells cheese, bread, muffins, etc.
The Decor, Vibe – Clean modern place with someone playing music much of the time. Some seating inside and outside. Lots of typical Berkeley-ites including students.
The pizza we ordered hadRed Bell Pepper, Onions, Kalamata Olive, Mozzarella Cheese, Feta Cheese, Garlic Olive Oil, Italian Parsley Pizza ($2.50 slice, $20 entire pie)
This was the pizza of the day. It had crunchy crust over half of a slice, while the rest was chewy and not soggy. Cheese was high quality and very good. This is one heavy pizza even though it had no meat and was not thick crust. Good stuff.
We did not miss meat when eating this pizza.
This is very good pizza in a interesting venue. It could only occur in Berkeley. The bakery next door is great. Lots of fresh bakery items. We would come back if we were in the area. I will give Cheeseboard Pizza in Berkeley 5 out of 8 slices.
