Tomasso’s Pizza Boca Raton – Sicilian Pizza Review

I have been a big fan of Tomasso's Pizza in Boca Raton since I moved down here.  It is one of the few places you can go order a slice, and actually take it from the counter to your table without the assistance of a server.....imagine the risk. So I am sure I am going to get an incredible amount of slack for posting this review, especially from the locals that have kept Tomasso's open for over 20 years. I am sure they will all say I do not know what I am talking about, and that I have lost all credibility when it comes to pizza. My readers deserve to know that the slice I had recently at Tomasso's wasn't up to par. It was borderline gross.

The regular slice at Tomasso's is definitely one of the better slices in town.  They are huge, thin, crisp and quite delicious. The Sicilian on the other hand wasn't anything like the regular. The sauce had pieces of onion and tomatoes still in it, the cheese was hardly even put on. If you cannot tell what I mean from this photo you will have to just trust me on the fact they were stingy with the cheese. This is really disheartening since we scored Tomasso's so highly in the past. Perhaps they had a new pizza maker, perhaps they were just in a rush, but neither of those two things are my problem. All I wanted was a nicely cooked, good tasting slice, and I didn't even get close to this. The crust wasn't even cooked properly. It was raw and soggy, which is something that is hard to do with a Sicilian style slice.

Sorry Tomasso's but for this specific slice of Sicilian pizza I had the other day there, I am only giving you 3 out of 8 slices.
