In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. Its about all you need to find Lia's Pizza, a newcomer to Syosset Long Island. Just seven months at their new location (Franklin Square and Oceanside for its other locations), Lia's is tucked away in the corner of Bagga Plaza just west of the 135 (Seaford - Oyster Bay Expressway). Seems like many pizza places have come and gone in this little area of Syosset, and I am not sure why. Most of the other pizza places around Syosset have been there for dozens of years.

Complete with an espresso bar and a clean, warm and hospitable setting, Lia's Pizza is a great place to grab practically any slice you want. Y'know what I'm 'sayin?. Fuggedaboutit!!!

Lia's has a full menu of specialty pies and Italian Dinners to consider, as well as the traditional walk-in and grab a slice. Today, the one eyed Mad Greek chose to grab a slice of Neapolitan pepperoni and a slice of the Sicilian marinara.

I was not disappointed in the least. Starting with the pepperoni slice, the pizza chef's at Lia's spared not even a quarter on their toppings when they loaded slices of fresh pepperoni on top, making this well made, well balanced slice a winner.

Lia's Pizza in Syosset earns a solid 6 out of 8 slices on the one eyed chart of perfection for the pepperoni slice.

Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the marinara slice. While very tasty, this slice at first glance reminded me of the grandpa marinara from the pizza institution in Maspeth named Rosa's pizza (they even have a location in Huntington now). Whereas Rosa's has perfected the art of a finely balanced cheese first, sauce second masterpiece, Lia's Pizza was slightly out of balance and left me wanting perfection. I would give it a 5 out of 8 slices rating.

Lia's marinara pizza is a nice slice and would recommend it for those who are zesty sauce lovers who like a little extra oil rising on top.

Overall, I would highly recommend Lia's Pizza to anyone interested in finding this tucked away gem in Syosset.
