While visiting my parents a couple of weeks ago, they gave me the chance to pick anywhere I wanted to go eat.  Having not been to Albert's Pizza in Ronkonkoma, for a while, I thought it would be a good selection.  They naturally agreed, and we began our trek out there.

During a previous journey to Albert's I had given them a perfect 8 out of 8 slice rating.  Was wondering if they could possibly be as good as they tasted that day.

I ordered a couple slices of their upside down pie and one regular.  Albert's is extremely well known out in eastern Long Island for their upside down pies.  If you haven't tried them by now, you really are missing some good quality slices.  It hurts me to say this, but unfortunately Albert's did not hold up to their perfect slice rating from my previous visit.  The slices were pretty close to being perfect, but the sauce seemed to be a bit off this day.

My personal preference when it comes to sauce is that it is sweet and smooth.  Although Albert's sauce was smooth this day, it wasn't as sweet as it usually tasted.  Maybe it was the oregano overload on top of the slice that caused me to not be able to taste the sauce, but something was definitely off with it on this day.  The crust was crisp and tasted really good.  I couldn't force this slice to sag if I tried.  The cheese tasted amazing as it melted into my mouth. So close to being exceptional, but no cigar today guys.

Albert's is a place I will ALWAYS go out of my way to eat at.  Just try not to use so much oregano guys!

Albert's gets 6 out of 8 slices this visit.
