Went to meet a friend in downtown Fort Lauderdale the other day. To my surprise he brought Mallory with him, which just totally made my day!  Now we had two pizza experts at Riverfront Pizza in Fort Lauderdale to evaluate the slices.

Riverfront Pizza is located in the Riverwalk plaza near downtown Ft. Lauderdale.  I have never eaten here before, and honestly didn't even know it existed, until Steve suggested it.

My first impression upon walking in was promising.  No idiotic need for a wait staff to bring me my two slices.  The place smelled pretty good, and the prices weren't too high.  After paying to have to park in a garage to eat here, I would have been pissed if the prices were overpriced.

I ordered 1 regular and 1 Sicilian.  They came out pretty quickly, so their ovens must be heated pretty high.  These were by no means fresh slices, so the only way they could cook that quickly, is if they have the oven too high.  This is where I started to become skeptical of Riverfront, and the slice I was about to eat.

Upon taking my first bite, I realized there were chucks of tomatoes in the sauce, and literally had to peel them from under the cheese, since they were so big and long.  The photos do not show this, but if you like a smooth sweet sauce, this isn't your place.  The slices weren't anything terrible, but they certainly were not anything to brag about.  Cheese was average, crust was decently crisp. It is highly unlikely I will pay money to park and go eat here again.  Maybe the late night crowd who frequent the bars nearby, will enjoy this pizza, but personally I would rather go to Squiggy's down the block.

• No wait staff
• Good selection of slices to choose from
• Pretty clean inside

Least Memorable Things:

• They charge for soda refills
• Have to pay to park, in order to have a slice
• They tried to tell me they gave me my change when they didn't!
• Taste and consistency of sauce
