Pizza USA Festival Flea Market Pompano Beach- New Owners
Slice Rating
Anytime you go to a pizza place and wait in line behind a nice old lady, only to watch her ask the owner for change of a dollar, and witness him rudely say NO, we ain't got none, while he clearly has it, you know you are in for a bad experience.
This is precisely what happened to me while trying out the new Pizza USA at the Festival Flea Market in Coral springs Pompano Beach food court. This poor little old lady wanted some quarters and the guy who was running the place refused, even after she paid for the food she ordered. This put a nasty taste in my mouth before I even bit into the pizza. The new owners of this place must not understand their clientele. They are probably 90% elderly looking for something to do during the day. And if they are willing to eat at your location while they aimlessly walk around, you should be thankful you have them.
The crust was totally disproportionate to the slice. There was almost 1/3 of the slice in just dough. The picture above does not show it accurately so look at this photo of our second slice for further proof.
How any pizza place could serve a slice like this is beyond me. I mean at some point, either the pizza maker, the counter guy, or the guy ringing me up should have notice this slice and threw it out. Why the hell would I want to pay $2.99 a slice for some dough. Since all I could taste was pretty much dough, I have to say, that it could have been worse. It had a decent taste to it.
The sauce was too spicy, but the cheese was actually pretty good here.
I wouldn't personally go back to eat this pizza, but then again I am not sure I would ever plan on going back to this flea market. It is like g-ds waiting room. Turns out this kind elderly lady was looking for change so she could tip a young man to carry her pizza to the table. What a jerk at the register who denied her.
Pizza USA in Festival Flea Market gets 4 out of 8 slices.
