As the hunger pains hit and I was ready to head out I decide on grabbing some pizza. I decided on New River Pizza, 706 S Federal Hwy 
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.

Yes, pizza is in their title, and pizza they do have. They offer 4 different sizes, Mini through Large, and they also have 13 unique specialty pizzas, ranging from Baked Ziti to their own special Heart Attack ™.

I decided on their lunch special, which is 2 slices and a soda for $5.50; toppings are an extra $.50 per slice. I decide on some pepperoni on my pizza. After a short wait out come two of the largest slices I have seen in a while. They were two huge oily dripping masses of cheese and pepperoni. I proceeded to add some extra cheese to sop up the oil and some red pepper. I am not much for the amount of oil that came off my slices; I am much more akin to a dryer slice.

The slices were well covered in pepperoni, which is the way I like it. The crust was not over cooked, which is a big plus, and the cheese stuck to the slice. Nothing worse than picking up your little slice of gastronomical heaven and having it all slide off. The slices were perfect. I was barley able to polish off the slices, but I did.

This place is great for a lunchtime stop or if you’re looking for a late night slice, New River is open till 4AM.

You might not think much of this place when you walk in. The inside is small with two long counters with bar stools for eat in customers. So it is not a good idea to bring the family.

I give New River Pizza 6 out of 8 slices.
