Motorino Pizza Williamsburg Brooklyn
Slice Rating
Motorino Pizza is located in Greenpoint Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Not too far from Fortunato's bakery, which we happened to go to immediately after. Greenpoint Williamsburg has been blessed with an amazing new wood fired pizza place.
This is their first place, and they recently opened a second joint on 12th street between first and second where the former Una Pizza Napoletana used to be. In a future review, you will see that they have managed to dilute themselves at this new location, as the pizza wasn't nearly as amazing as the Greenpoint Williamsburg location.
Currently they make about 300-400 pizzas a day in their 750 degree pizza oven. Matthew, the owner was kind enough to share some great information with us while we waited for our 2 pies. Matthew was definitely not Italian, and almost sound like he was from Belgium or something. I should have asked. We ordered a standard pie and one with Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella. The regular pie is to the left.
The regular pie blew me away. The cheese tasted phenomenal on top of the sweet and incredibly tasty sauce. The crust had a remnant taste of the super hot wood oven. The sauce was sweet, with a hint of some awesome seasoning. Whatever Motorino's is doing, they are doing right, and there is no doubt that they deserve the lines out the door to get into this location. I am a bit surprised they expanded so quickly, and really wish they would have just grown in their initial location though.
