iPic Movie Theatre Mizner Park Boca Raton Pizza
Slice Rating
Had the opportunity to go to the iPic Movie Theatre in Mizner Park the other night. This new Boca Raton movie theatre seems to be all the rage, so it seemed well worth the try. My nephew was visiting so I wanted him to have a good experience anyways. When I saw the tickets were $24 a piece, I realized this might be the only time I go see a movie here.
The only movie we could see was Olympus Has Fallen, and at 10pm, so I was already tired when I got there. I noticed the menu had pizza on it, and I couldn't wait to try it.
iPic is truly a unique experience. The theaters are full of these lounge chairs that you can literally lay down in. Check out the photo, those are my sneakers. I know they are pretty cute. Anyways, we aren't here to rate movie theaters, we are here to rate pizza. I ordered the flat bread pizza and wondered how the waitress, yes I said waitress, since you get served in your seats here, would bring me my food and not disturb the other folks who paid $24 for a ticket.
The pizza arrived about 15 minutes after I ordered it, soon after the movie started. It was a little annoying to see if it was the right pizza, since the lights were out, but I shined my phone on it and it looked ok. I ripped off the first thin slice of this pie and unfortunately ripped off most of the cheese from the other slice as well. This pizza wasn't cut very good, and considering the dimly lit eating conditions, I would think they would make it a point to at least cut through.
The cheese was fresh, and tasted good. The sauce had a bitter aftertaste and was my least favorite part of the pie. The dough, was surprisingly decent, but not cooked evenly.
The pizza at iPic in Boca Raton gets 4 out of 8 slices.
