Buongiorno Pizza Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Slice Rating
After a client meeting up in Palm Beach Gardens, we tried to find a little hole in the wall pizzeria that the client said was pretty good. Since the client loved the same places in Long Island that I liked, I was quite anxious to get over there to try it. He wasn't sure of the name, but he gave the location of being west of 95 on Northlake Blvd. The first place we noticed was Buongiorno Pizza & Pasta on the North side of the road so we pulled in.
Once we pulled into the lot, we didn't get the vibe that Buongiorno was the same Pizza place that our client was describing. This place was more of a restaurant and required a waiter to serve us the pizza we were about to order. I hate that. Seriously, I really do hate this.
We went in and ordered a couple of slices each and began the wait. We had a nice conversation about business and after about 5 minutes our slices arrived on the table looking extremely large. Buongiorno Pizza certainly doesn't serve you a small slice of pizza and make you feel like you didn't get enough for the money.
My first bite wasn't extremely impressive. Although the cheese tasted good, the crust didn't really have a taste at all. The sauce wasn't particularly flavorful either, and didn't have the smooth consistency that I enjoy when having a slice. Personally I would make the sauce a little less chunky, and remove some of the peel. The cheese didn't need any revisions, but the crust, although decently crisp, could use a better tasting flour. This wasn't an awful slice, but it wasn't anything fantastic either. In my opinion, it isn't really the slice I would go out of my way to try again. Hopefully their dinners are decent, and if I was in the area, I would try the pasta. To last over 6 years in this location, I am going to guess I was just there on an off day. If you feel differently, please leave me a comment and tell me what you loved about this pizza that maybe I missed.
