Just got back from another trip to Long Island and got to try out several new little places I had never been to before. My objective was to drive down some roads after leaving Islip Airport and just stop and try out some random places.

Andiamo Pizzeria was one of the places I discovered during this tour as we headed through Ronkonkoma, NY. Andiamo Pizza was located in a small strip mall in a mainly residential neighborhood on Hawkins Avenue. We went in during this off hour and were the only people inside the pizza place. As you enter the doorway you are first greeted with the garbage pail, then a bunch of seats and eventually you get to the pizza counter.

The pizza in the display case at Andiamo Pizza didn’t look too appetizing. They had a bunch of different slices, but really only 1 or 2 of each of them. I asked if there was a lunch special and he told me they have 2 regular slices and a soda for $5.00. I was actually in the mood for a Sicilian slice but the 1 slice they had in the glass display looked not to my liking, I opted instead for the plain slice.

As I waited for my slices to come out of the oven, I couldn’t help but listen to the atrocious music they were playing in this pizza shop. Not only was it gansta style music, but it was ridiculously loud. Annoyances like this could keep people from coming in and based upon how empty the store was, perhaps it already did.

My slices looked decent when they came out of the oven. The sauce wasn’t applied too heavily and the cheese looked extremely edible. I took my first bite and immediately noticed how crisp the crust was on this slice. The taste of the crust was very good as well. The sauce was evenly applied and had somewhat of a tang to it but it worked well underneath the generous portion of cheese. The second slice was equally as good.

One thing I wouldn’t order again here were the garlic knots. They were way too bland and unsatisfying.

Andiamo Pizza is a place I would return to in the future. The taste was good, but it still could use a bit more quality to it.

Andiamo Pizzeria in Ronkonkoma, NY gets 5 out of 8 slices.

This site is bullshit andiamo in ronkonkoma is possibly one of the greatest pizzerias I’ve ever been too…all of their pizza is fresh and original the atmosphere is young and hip and they cater to the customers who eat there which is primarily students and young teens and adults…the knots are amazing and I seriously question your expertise! And pallet…seems to me like your a lonely person with nothing better to do but travel around with your mommy and daddy and talk crap about pizzerias it’s quite dispicable.

To Pizza Expert. I eat at Andiamo at least 3x a week and myself and surrounding neighborhoods and businesses have been very excited for Andiamos arrival. We have not had a quality pizzeria around for years and we are all extremely excited Andiamo came to Ronkonkoma. I have heard nothing but rave reviews from family, co-workers and neighbors and am very shocked by this review. I have never heard anything but Italian music played in the establishment and there is no garbage pale by the entrance. They ALWAYS have such a wide variety of fresh slices and specials that’s part of the reason why we all love it there so much. We always know we can go to Andiamo and get something special. The people who work there are great and very personable, it’s a lot of family who work there and that also is another reason why going there is so special. I must ask, why would one put a review on if the pizza is good? And especially if you say you would go there again? Please be careful with your reviews because this is a new establishment a lot of us want to see succeed! We are excited for the new pizzeria Andiamo in town and we support our local family businesses!

We are looking for the best pizza and the name just happens to be the worst. We help you avoid the bad places. I took photos of the pizza in the case as well as a recording of the music. I don’t think the review was bad at all. Heck, I even said if return which is huge for us!

If the site is what you called it then perhaps people shouldn’t eat there because I gave it a decent review. I’m glad you are personally trying to keep people from listening to it.

Anthony ,this site is not bullshit .Their expertise in not in question by any means. The reviews are dead on. The Pizza expert knows his stuff ! They give honest reviews. I think ,you just have been eating crappy pizza for so long ,you have forgotten what a real slice is like. Times have changed, and now ,we even have top quality pizza down in Florida, that will stomp on your Andiamo’s ! You should really check out some of the reviews of NYC,and Staten Island pizza ,to see what really insanely good pizza is. Or ,come down to Boca ,and we’ll show you where to get a great slice or pie.

The site is about reviewing all pizza joints, and giving props where deserved ,and trying to help steer people from the bad places. You will find the best pizza places to eat at on the planet from this site.

I googled Andiamo to get the address and phone number since I misplaced my menu and can’t believe I’m coming across them on a worst pizza web site. I’m reading the comments and I am not sure who made or runs this web site but if this web site is about finding GOOD pizza and avoiding the bad ones then why in the world is it called I don’t get it. To me a web site that has the name worst pizza would have pizzerias on the site that actually serve the WORST pizza! And would be places to avoid. Make sense? Anyone could see this from google and think “They’re on a site called worstpizza, forget it we won’t try them out”,without even reading the review. To me this site is just more harm then good for businesses and it doesn’t make any sense. Also, it looks like its only one person posting on here and every so often??? Just random places from time to time??? What makes this one person an “expert”??? There is nothing legit about this web site. This web site doesn’t make any sense. Whoever is the creator, come up with a different concept that actually makes sense.

This web site is based on one persons opinion with zero culinary knowledge who hides behind a computer. How is this web site even running??? No one cares about some random persons opinion on pizza. Go write your opinions in a journal, no one is going to come on here for a professional opinion.

    Thousands come here regularly.

A legitimate and professional web site doesn’t have someone who works for the web site comment and defend it. I looked through the reviews and posts and anytime someone writes something negative about a review Craig(from the web site) comments and defends it. A legitimate and professional web site doesn’t need to do that.

I live in Smithtown and I used to see this kid(who runs worstpizza) all the time. He’s just a kid with a love for pizza. I wouldn’t come on this web site for a professional opinion on food. I think its great he has this as a hobby, but keep it as a hobby. Maybe put your opinion on your own personal Facebook or something. Someone may mistake this site for a real web site and that’s not right.

I completely agree Megan. I used to see this guy all the time. Its just a kid and his personal opinion. And if thousands come on here regularly, where is all of their input other then this Craig character who works for the site?

We agree. This is not a legitimate site I guess. You bring up a good point. Please don’t worry about the review or what users who post here have to say. All I know is this. The user who submitted this gave your friend a pretty decent review even saying they’d go back! Why such hostility?

No hostility here. I think you need to realize that what your doing isn’t good for business. There are so many great points on This forum you need to pay attention to. Some of these restaurants are up and coming and are still trying to build. I live in Smithtown which is the next town over from Ronkonkoma and since Andiamo has opened we have been going there a lot. Through going there we have become friendly with the owners (not friends, but friendly, hi how yah doin, how’s the kids, see ya later) They are a family owned establishment, good people who work very hard and have something great going. When you are on the Internet and you see a pizzeria being featured on a web site worst pizza you tend to think the worst. Not many people will know what this web site is, that your actually looking for good pizza. The name this web site has people wont understand, so someone will see this and assume the worst and a lot of people won’t bother to click on it, they are just going to look at the fact that its on a web site with such a name. So here a good establishment is going to potentially lose customers because of it. This doesn’t sit well with me. I’m a New Yorker, we are loyal and we fight for what we are loyal to. Some of the restaurants on here are trying to build and you are potentially harming them. If this is something your into, why not start a blog or a personal Facebook or make it a fun thing with friends. Why create a professional LOOKING web site that may confuse people and potentially harm a business. This is people’s livelihoods. Save this for the professionals and come up with something else with your passion. There are other outlets that will have a more positive result.

Quite the contrary. We receive letters almost monthly from places thanking us for the review and business it brought in.
If it was it seems like an advertisement. Worstpizza makes people look and then they see The reviewer liked the place and try it out. You have this all wrong!

Like usual, when this reviewer writes about a place in my surrounding area, I try it out. And, once again he was correct. The pizza was crisp, but the garlic knots no taste. Why are you so angry Andiamo, 5 out of 8 is pretty good…And I wouldn’t have found you if he didn’t write this review!

Recently I was extremely low on cash and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money on the internet. I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills! I’m so glad, I did this!! With all the financial stress these years, I really hope all of you will give it a chance. – mhdn
