On my first try of Luigi’s Pizza in downtown West Palm Beach, I wasn’t overly impressed with the pie they served me. It was inundated with flour, the and the pizza was pretty much average. Was nothing I would go out of the way for. The sauce was the part of the pie I didn’t care for. I knew if Luigi’s Pizza could rework their sauce, and put some TLC in the preparation of their pizza, Luigi’s could make a decent pie. I said I would give Luigi’s in West Palm Beach another chance, and the other day I did.
When my pizza from Luigi’s arrived, I noticed one thing right away. The excessive amount of flour that was previously used during my first visit had relatively disappeared. Maybe they actually listened to what I had to say in my first review of Luigi’s. The cheese looked deliciously edible, and I couldn’t wait to take a bite. As I took the slice up to my mouth, I would have liked it to be a bit crispier, but I will let that slide since I didn’t give it much time to settle, and immediately dug in.
The pizza I had on this day at Luigi’s in West Palm Beach, was far better than the previous version. The crust tasted fantastic (a little undercooked), the cheese was top notch, obviously a Grande blend. The sauce was sweet, and gently applied. I would have to say, that I really enjoyed my visit. Luigi’s in West Palm Beach is a place I will go to when I am back on Clematis Street. I definitely prefer it over its next door neighbor Pizza Girls.
Not sure how Pizza Girls can make a claim that they are the original home of the worlds largest slice? Is this a joke, or is there an award committee that goes around giving out such accolades? This is another post all together, and one I cannot wait to post.
The rest of the Italian Food at Luigi’s in West Palm Beach looked and smelled great, so I look forward to trying some pasta next time I am there. Luigi’s also has a pretty nice looking lunch buffet, so if you are in a hurry for lunch in Downtown West Palm Beach, this might be the perfect spot for you. It should also be noted that Luigi’s has quite a nice catering room upstairs, so if you are throwing a party or an event, this could be the perfect venue.
Luigi’s Pizza in West Palm Beach gets 6 out of 8 slices for this visit.
