Dean Anthony’s Express Pizza & More is taking their stab at this hidden location, with limited parking and limited seating.  From my recollation, this spot used to house Carlucci’s Express, then Bloomin Newmans, then Pizza Express, then nothing for a while and now Dean Anthony’s….Express.  Personally I would never put the name express next to my name in this locale, as it could bring back terrible memories of the other express locations that used to be housed their, and their crappy tasting pizza.  But, I guess that doesn’t scare Dean Anthony.  You know what scares me about Dean Anthony is how they put Awarded Best Pizza all over their menu, signs, etc, yet they do not say who gave them this prestigious award?  Did they themselves say it was the best and give themselves the award?

Toby and I decided to try the new place out after and see what it tasted like.  Dean Anthony’s bought this place turn key from the landlord, who was trying to dump it for a long time.  So the decor is pretty much identical to all the previous places, except for maybe the tables and chairs.  They had some decent looking pizza in the display case, and I ultimately chose a regular slice and a “grandma” style slice.  The two slices with a soda were $6.49 on special.

When the slices came out they smelled pretty good, and as I started to peel the pizza and cheese away from the paper plate, almost like scraping ice off the window of your car in the dead of winter, I lifted the bottom of the grandma slice to notice a beautiful looking crust.  The regular slice was a little over cooked and still full of corn meal, or whatever else it could have been.  The grandma slice had some fruity tasting extra virgin olive oil layered on top of the fresh tasting cheese.  The crust was fantastic, but the sauce was way too chunky for me and I ended up taking most off.  It had a kick to it, but not the type of kick I like.  Not saying a roundhouse kick would have tasted better, just saying it wasn’t exactly my style.  The regular slice, tasted pretty bland, and the cheese was a little overcooked prior to being placed back in the oven, so it didn’t make for the nicest of tastes.  The best part of the regular slice was how the crust held up when you lifted it.  It was extremely crunchy, and tasted great.  It kind of reminded me of the texture at Authentic Brooklyn Pizza in Boca Raton (just not nearly as good as theirs).

Dean Anthony’s Express is a place I will probably go back to, if only for the sake of convienence though.  The first time I go there and have trouble parking, will likely be my last time.  Hopefully they can do a great delivery business out of this location, cause that is the only way they will stay open.  It will be tough to come here though, knowing Annie’s isn’t too far away and tasted better.

Dean Anthony’s Pizza gets 4 out of 8 slices.

I herd of this place from my office everyone saying how much they loved it. so i googled to see if they had any reviews and what i found was this they are on worst pizza.com why?. It surprise me to read this posting knowing this is the first time this person has been there and they take a picture of the pizza before they ever take a bite seems strange. i thought that square pie with sauce on topped looked pretty good. so because of this posting i gave them a try, and my god are they terrific the square one they call the grandmas. that is my all time new favorite pizza i also ordered the rice balls and they were also terrific. and they have 24 different specials to choose from ranging from 1/2 sub and a salad to 5 wings and a soup and off course slice specials for all a very reasonable price. by the way this is the first post i have ever wrote and the only reason is because the bad review is way off they are awesome i will be going to lunch there every day and as far as the parking they are right next door to the hampton and the hampton has plenty of parking
P.s. to the guy that wrote the bad review you say you will still go back there to eat? if you didn't like it and took your time to wright that review you can always go eat the crap they serve at the other 5 pizza places within a mile radius and trust me I've been to all of them and Dean Anthony's is the best oh yea they just got voted best pizza again by me i give them a 10 out of 10

Growing up on Long Island my taste buds for pizza were honed at Pappalardos' Pizza Cove, Raffela's and Mario's to name but a few. Thankfully several years ago Dean Anthony's opened there first place in Boynton Beach and once again as a true pizza lover my taste buds were satisfied. Happy to report that with the opening of there newest location (Boca) I can now eat the best tasting pizza (south of New York) in anyone of there three locations.

I love Dean Antony’s Pizza. The slice portion is large, the flavor is wonderful, the crust is crispy and not soggy and their prices are great. Sorry I have to disagree with you on this one. This is the first pizza I have had her in south Florida that is actually good! p.s. my pizza has never stuck to my plate, I work near there and eat there frequently although the parking lot is small I have never had difficulty parking.

seems to be a stunning lack of competence in pizza tasting. Either that or a review troll that hopes public insults will get them free pizza. I’m sorry if your experience wasn’t wonderful, but mine has been. Me and the guys go there every week (parkings not a problem when you work at T-Rex) and I have not found a better pizza in South Florida. Maybe it’s time for you to try again and then fix the erros in your review?

Matt if you think this is the best pizza you have tried in South Florida I won’t even take the time to respond any further.
