Totonno’s is not only a Major disappointment, its WAY over priced. It’s close to having a Tortilla with ketchup and some balls of marshmallows. Seriously! I never put salt on a slice of pizza in my life until I went to Totonno’s. I feel so bad for you people that love it, you clearly have never eaten “Pizza”.

Being from the New Haven area, I must say that I have at least a half dozen places within 20 minutes of me that blow away Totonno’s and Grimaldi’s as well. These 2 places aren’t even in the same league as New Haven Pizza. Sorry Brooklyn, that old story of you being the Pizza Palace of the world is an “Old Wives Tale”. I almost laughed when I heard several people in Totonno’s say how great the pizza is there. Hell, Costco has better Pizza (I can’t be more serious- COSTCO! is better).

You want real pizza? Go to New Haven: Pepe’s, Sally’s, Modern, Or Michelangelo’s In Milford.

Disappointed. I'm a longtime patron of the Neptune av loc. It was always unique, and great. I couldn't wait for the re-opening. Today, a had a pie, now $21.00 for a plain, and it wasn't the same. The cheese was sliced too thin. That special flavor was barely there. And what seemed strage, the whole pie was very light, and seems to be half the weight as before. Looks like L&B moves into 1st place for me.

You know that the original Totonno's is in Coney Island, Brooklyn, of course! They always used a coal-fired oven, and takeout pies were put into two brown paper bags. I haven't been there in years, but I think the place is still in business, on Neptune Avenue, just South of Stilwell…

I also just read a new article from the Daily News of March 14 that there was a fire there. I don't know if they've re-built.

If you are looking for your 8 out of 8 go to Denino's or Joe and Pats in Staten Island. Forget Brooklyn, SI is the pizza heaven.
